New shop on Etsy.com [Jun. 28th, 2005|07:02 pm]
wildpurple
corduroysgirl brought this site Etsy to my attention as an avenue for selling our crafty wares. I made a "shop" on there and listed my quilt blocks.

I think I might use this instead of selling directly thru my journal...just until I can get my oscommerce shop together. <---getting a headache thinking about it...LOL!!

It was as easy as posting on livejournal. I am going to list more tonight and see how it goes.

You have really cute stuff, I would definitely list some itmes there, if I were you. You never know... :-)

wow thanks for the compliment. i need to get my apartment in order, then to making more things. i kinda feel like you in that i'd like to clear out my current fabric stash or at least a good 60% of it. gotta get to work :P have you found it profitable to sell blocks. i was looking into it a few years ago but they seemed to go for so cheap on ebay that i wondered if it was worth the effort.

Like anything else, if you have a "following" you can sell for a good price. I am not really trying to make a "profit" per se. I am just wanting to get this stuff out of here and make a little bit for my troubles...

maybe once I get the fabric I want(Amy Butler, Henry Alexander and the like) to replace my current stash with, then I will pursue getting the bigger bucks for these particular quilt blocks.

ya i guess its worth it to get a bit of money(not to mention rid of)fabric that would otherwise be sitting around.

It's great fabric, but now that I have my eye on the other fabrics that I have a "hankering" for, I've lost my inspiration where my current fabric stash is concerned.

I know myself well enough to know that once the love affair with a piece of fabric is over...it's not likely to return...better to send it out into the world to someone for whom it would be fun to have and work with.

I actually sold something on etsy tonight! I hardly ever sell despite being out there in many directions...so I was stoked.
What i sold was made from Alexander henry fabric, too... :)
